Valdemiro Américo is a Master’s student in Applied Statistics and Biometry at Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He has a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM). During his undergraduate studies, he worked on the analysis of risk factors associated with survival time among patients with tuberculosis co-infected with HIV treated at the Mavalane Health Centre. His research interests include statistical learning, quantitative genetics, and statistical methods, particularly mixed models, clustering techniques for mixed data, and multivariate analysis. He advocates the use of modern tools for statistical computing and reproducible research, particularly R, Stata, SPSS, LaTeX, and Excel.
