João Marcos Amario de Sousa is an Agricultural Engineer, holds a M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant Breeding, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Genetics and Plant Breeding at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), where he is a member of the Laboratory of Quantitative Genetics and Statistical Learning. His research focuses on Quantitative Genetics, Biometry, and Artificial Intelligence applied to plant breeding. His main interest lies in the development of predictive models for estimating genotype performance in untested environments, as well as in genomic prediction methods aimed at increasing accuracy and efficiency in breeding programs.
